Jaakko Kuusisto is one of the most versatile Finnish musicians who is equally occupied as a violinist, conductor and composer. He has won prizes from international competitions, including the Sibelius, Indianapolis, Carl Nielsen and Queen Elisabeth competitions, and performs continuously with prestigious orchestras and at numerous festivals. He performs often as a combination of soloist and conductor. From Jaakko Kuusisto’s concerts we can always expect exciting programs, the repertoire often includes works outside the limits of classical music. Jaakko Kuusisto’s music compositions include three operas, versatile chamber music as well as film music.
The Estonian audience will have the opportunity to see all three musical sides of this outstanding Finnish musician during the festive New Year’s Eve Concert: as a soloist and a conductor and listen to music he created. Jaakko Kuusisto performs on Matteo Goffriller violin dated from 1702.
